Regardless of the size of our Christmas budget, our kids get the most of it.
Every year, my husband and I sit down and discuss what our Christmas budget will be. Every year, we squeeze in money for family, some friends, our favorite charities, but we always seem to leave each other off of the list. This leads to creative thinking.

For the last few years, I have been giving my husband 12 days of Christmas.
I know, 12 gifts instead of one seems more expensive rather than less, but it is not. I really don’t spend much at all. It isn’t the price of the gifts, but the thrill of getting some little something each day leading up to Christmas.
I like to “surprise” him, so to speak since this isn’t exactly a surprise anymore, by leaving the gifts in unexpected places and times. He may get up from his recliner to get something to drink and find his gift sitting in his chair when he returns. It may be hanging from the hook he uses to hang his laptop bag or keys. It might be waiting in his vehicle when he leaves for work in the morning. His gift might be laying in his bed waiting for him. Not knowing when it is coming or how is part of the fun!
This is what he’s getting this year:
Over the years…
Over the years, I have given him mostly stocking stuffer sized gifts. I have given him lots of sweet and salty treats and snacks. He can take them to work or eat them right away. Cocoa and tea have been hits with him, too.
I have given him gifts for his automobile like deodorizers, ice scrapers, or car washing materials. He has gotten clothing and accessories like gloves, hats, belts, or ties. Items for his office are usually welcomed as well.
It’s all about having fun and showing my husband that I love him.
I hope you have gotten some ideas, if not for Christmas gifts, maybe some stocking stuffer ideas. I have even more stocking stuffer ideas below! Merry Christmas!
