Holiday Parties are so much fun!
You get to visit and mingle…and the FOOD! Okay, I admit that I’m not all that fond of socializing. I’m a total introvert so all that fellowship can be really draining for me. I do look forward to sampling all the goodies at these parties, though. I am always sure to come away with either a recipe or an idea. I brought these cookies truffles to a party or two.

Parties are also great places to try out new recipes. People won’t usually tell you that your new recipe is a flop, but if you end up carrying most of it back home, then it probably isn’t worth repeating or sharing. On the other hand, if I get several recipe requests, then I deem it a success.
After the second or third recipe request, I knew I would be sharing this recipe with you.
My favorite thing about this recipe is the flexibility. I made this same recipe two different ways, but the possible variations are almost endless. Don’t be surprised if you see me posting some more variations of this recipe in the future.
I also liked that this recipe could be made in advance. I kept them in my Debbie Meyer GreenBoxes™ so I didn’t worry about them losing their freshness.
Quite frankly, this past weekend was over-the-top busy. We had Dress Rehearsal for the church play and not one, but two soccer games on Saturday. Sunday was the actual Church Play followed by a bowling tournament then back to church for the Christmas Party. There was just no time to cook so this recipe and my GreenBoxes™ really saved me.
Are you ready to make cookie truffles? Check out the recipe below!
Ingredients
- Oreo's (I used about a sleeve and a half)
- Cream Cheese (I used about 2/3 - 3/4 of a block)
- White Chocolate Chips
- Parchment paper
Instructions
- Crush the Oreo's into crumbs.
- In a bowl, mix most of the Oreo crumbs with the cream cheese in a bowl.
- You will want to have an official taster. You don't want to taste a strong cream cheese flavor. I am always adjusting and adding more crushed Oreo's until the flavor is just right.
- Roll the mixture into balls.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes or more
- Melt white chocolate chips.
- If you use the microwave to melt them, use 20 or 30 second intervals stirring in between.
- Roll the chilled balls in melted white chocolate until covered
- Place the coated balls onto the parchment paper
- Sprinkle additional crushed Oreo onto the still wet coating for garnish
- Once they are all coated and sprinkled, refrigerate again until party time
I also made Gingersnap Truffles for the same party. I used the same recipe as the Oreo Truffles simply substituting the Gingersnaps for the Oreo’s. Easy and delicious.
I have more holiday parties and gatherings coming up!
I will be making more Cookie Truffles and storing them in Debbie Meyer GreenBoxes™ for my upcoming holiday parties and gatherings to make sure they stay fresh. I might even tie a pretty bow around them to give as gifts to teachers, friends, family, etc.
