This recipe is perfect for a small slow cooker. If you are using a medium to large sized slow cooker, you will want to double this recipe.
A simple can of Key Lime Pie Filling makes this recipe super easy, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t make your own filling if you are an overachiever. Just pour the key lime pie filling into the bottom of your slow cooker. Next, I sprinkle a half of a box of white cake mix over the key lime pie filling. I really just eyeball a rough estimate. A little more or less than half of the box will not mess this recipe up, but a kitchen scale can help you get it precise if you’re not comfortable estimating.
Now, I just cut a half of a stick of butter into pats. I use salted butter simply because that is what I always have in the refrigerator. The pats are placed over the cake mix at least most of the surface. The key lime cobblers cooks in the slow cooker on low for 3-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. Of course, these times may need to be adjusted for your appliance since some slow cookers cook faster than others.
