I’m on a spray painting kick!
After updating our cabinet handles with spray paint a few days ago, the picture frames in my bedroom started really bugging me. I’m not a fan of gold. I’m really, really not a fan of gold.
I love the flowers, but I have always hated the gold frames. Unfortunately, the frames are more expensive to replace than the pictures so I have lived with it for too long.
A little paint makes a huge difference.
I loved the nickel finish on my cabinet handles so much that I decided to use the same color to update my picture frames. I removed the picture, mat, and glass before painting. That is a lot easier than trying to tape it up. It also gave me a chance to clean the glass really well. A quick coating of paint and some time drying was all it took.
It is kind of hard to tell with the glare from the lights, but I actually put the print into the frame upside down. My husband who swears that he’s more visual than I am hasn’t noticed yet. He does read my blog, though. So….
I plan to leave it like that for a little while because it makes me laugh. I will fix it before too long… unless my husband gets to it before I do. Hint! Hint!
Still Going!
You know I couldn’t stop there. I didn’t get any before pictures. Sorry. I attacked some random framed pictures of family that were around my house. One frame was brown wooden. Another frame was burgundy and cream. A different frame was an emerald green. The last one was brown and black. I decided to give them some uniformity.
Just as I did with the other frames, I removed the pictures and glass before painting. All the frames are still very different, but they work so much better together now.
